On to day 2..

OK, my first day on my way to the "Back 40" was great. I strapped on the heart rate monitor and got my rear end off for a steep 30 minute walk down to the grocery store and back. Just so it doesn't seem like a "wimpy walk"...the elevation shift from our house to the store and back is about 200' - a great walk and I actually got my heart rate up to 160 or so. I was surprised as I was expecting to be out of breath (which I was a little) and have some chest pain (which I did not). It was actually an awesome experience...nice warm weather and a nice walk. I really appreciate that the neighbor stopped at the bottom of the hill and asked if I wanted a ride home..tempting..but I said no!

Food wise was great..vitamin filled protein shake in the morning, whey protein shake at lunch and just after dinner. Off we go!

  1. Oooh, awesome! I'll bet Melissa is happy too! I was so happy when my hubby began exercising again.

He was a runner when we married but then got busy (and "lazy" as he puts it) and then stopped.

Now he works out on the bowflex a few days a week and walks on the treadmill. I am the one that is not exercising but I am starting back tomorrow.

A blog pal is starting her own fitness blog and encouraging us gals to join her. I'm in!
